All-City Wrestling Team

The Aurora Sentinel's Courtney Oakes announced the 2009-10 All-City Wrestling Team on April 9. Grandview has three wrestlers selected to the first team. Josh Federico (103), John Godin (119) and Sean Burroughs (125).  Derek Olson (145) was named Honorable Mention. (more>)

Federico Finishes Fifth
 (Feb 21, 2010)
Junior Josh Federico defeated Coronado's Devon Cruz, 6-2, in the opening round of the final day of the 2010 Colorado State Wrestling Championships and assured himself a medal and a finish in the top six. Federico lost the next round to Grand Junction's Dylan Thompson but won the fifth place match, 4-0, over Pomona's Austin Marvel.  more ->

Josh Federico, John Godin and Sean Burroughs have made it to the third day of the 75th Annual CHSAA State Wrestling Championships and they are one win away from placing in the top six.

On Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Heritage High School, Josh Federico (103), Dan Godin (119), Sean Burroughs (125) and Derek Olson (145) qualified to compete at the 75th Annual CHSAA State Wrestling Championships which begin on Thursday, February 18 at 7:15 PM at the Pepsi Center.

Northglenn's 5A JV State

Northglenn High School was host to twenty eight 5A Junior Varsity teams at the tournament they call 5A JV State on Friday and Saturday, February 5 and 6 . Grandview finished third.

Wolves Win At Arapahoe
(February 4, 2010)
Grandview wrestled their final Centennial League dual of the season at Arapahoe High School on Thursday, February 4 and, for the second dual in a row, the outcome was decided in the final match of the evening.
 

Thornton Invitational
(January 30, 2010)
Varsity wrestlers competed at the Thornton Invitational on Saturday, January 30. Sean Burroughs (125) and Dan Godin (130) advanced to championship final match. Burroughs lost a close match to last years 4A 119 pound state champion from Greeley Wesst, Joseph Martinez, and Godin lost to CT Robinson from Sand Creek. Josh Federico (103) and Tony Mendieta (112) finished third and the team ended up in eighth place.
 

Grandview 37, Eaglecrest 30

 Grandview wrestled their sixth league dual of the season at home against Eaglecrest and like the duals between these two teams in 2005-06 and 2006-07, the outcome was decided in the final match of the evening. more ->

Top Of The Rockies
(January 21, 2010)
The Varsity competed at the "tougher than state" Top of the Rockies Tournament at Centaurus High School on Friday and Saturday, January 22 and 23.  Junior Josh Federico finished fifth in the 103 pound weight class and the team finished 25th out of 32 teams. 
 

Grandview 58, Cherry Creek 18
(January 21, 2010)
Grandview wrestled their fifth league match of the season at home against Cherry Creek on Thursday night, January 21, 2010.  The Wolves jumped out to a quick 18 - 0 lead when 140 pounder David Rose, 145 pounder Derek Olson and 152 pounder Jakob Fisher pinned their opponents.  more ->
 

Arvada West
(January 16, 2010)
Grandview had three grapplers wrestler their way into the championship match at the tough Arvada West Invitational on Saturday, January 16.  Josh Federico (103) and John Godin (119) both won their championship bouts while Dan Godin (130) finished in second place.
 

Cherokee Trail 35, Grandview 33
(January 14, 2010)
The Wolves competed at Cherokee Trail on Thursday, January 14 in front of a full house with the League title, possibly, on the line. There were a number of opportunities along the way that could have changed the outcome and there was one final opportunity in the final match of the evening when senior Dan Godin (130) could tie with a tech fall or win the dual with a fall.  Godin lost to his opponent, Collin Gorham, 7-6 at last years dual but with a great effort this year, defeated Gorham, 9-5.
 

Ralston Valley Duals

The Varsity Wolves went to Ralston Valley for the team duals on Saturday, January 9. The Junior Varsity and Freshman/Sophomore wrestlers went to the Rangeview Invitational.

The Wolves wrestled their third Centennial League dual at home on Thursday night, January 7, 2010, against the Smoky Hill Buffaloes and and won, 50-30.
