The Grandview High School Wolves wrestlers won their fifth consecutive Centennial League title during the 2006-2007 season.

Aurora Sentinel's 2006-07 All City Wrestling Team

The Aurora Sentinel's Courtney Oakes printed the 2006-07 All City Wrestling Team on March 21. Grandview had four wrestlers selected to the first team. Eric Wilson (103), Josh Starr (130), Tyler McGoffin (135) and Bryce Lucherini (145). Michael Balagna (112), Patrick Brown (125), Daniel Ramirez (152) and Cody Gilmore (HWT) were named Honorable Mention.

The 72nd Annual State Wrestling Tournament got underway on Thursday, February 15, 2007. Grandview got off to a slow start with just one win, 135 pounder Tyler McGoffin, in eight matches.

Wolves Finish 2nd, Qualify 8 at Region 3
(2/11/07)
Grandview finished in second place with 174 points behind Brighton and had nine place finishers at the Regional 3 Tournament that was held at Loveland High School on Friday and Saturday, February 9 and 10, 2007. Eight of the nine wrestlers finished in the top four and will advance to the State Tournament that will be held at the Pepsi Center on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 15 - 17, 2007.  More ->

Centennial League Champs (2/2/07)
Grandview won their final league dual meet of the season against Boulder on Thursday night, February 1, 52 -13. The win keeps their consecutive league dual meet win streak alive at 36 and gives the Wolves their fifth consecutive league title.

All admission fees collected at the dual were contributed to the medical fund for injured Berthoud High School wrestlers, Nikko Landeros and Tyler Carron.

Grandview Varsity wrestlers took second place at the Rock Canyon Duals on Saturday, January 27, 2007. Grand Junction finished first.

Wolves Finish 14th At Top Of The Rockies (1/21/07)

Grandview finished in fourteenth place out of twenty-nine teams at the toughest High School tournament in Colorado, Centaurus's "Top Of The Rockies",  on Friday and Saturday, January 19 and 20, 2007.  The Wolves had one wrestler finish in third place (Tyler McGoffin at 135 pounds) and one wrestler finish fifth (Patrick Brown at 125 pounds).

Wolves Finish 6th at Arvada West (1/14/07)
Grandview finished sixth place at the tough Arvada West "Mini State" tournament on Saturday, January 13, 2007.  The Wolves won championships at 103 (Eric Wilson) and 135 (Tyler McGoffin), finished second at 125 (Patrick Brown) and had one wrestler finish third at 275 (Cody Gilmore).  results ->

Back To Back At Rangeview (1/6/07)
For the second consecutive time, Grandview's Junior Varsity and Varsity wrestlers won the Rangeview Tournament.

High School to Reno (12/21/06)
It was just beginning to snow at 4 a.m. on Wednesday morning, December 20th, 2006.  The Grandview High School wrestling team left Denver International Airport on a 6 a.m. flight to San Francisco.  145 pounder Bryce Lucherini and other parents and family members were scheduled to leave on an 11:30 non-stop to Reno.  That flight was cancelled at 6 a.m. and passengers were re-booked on a 5:45 p.m. flight.  United Airlines cancelled all flights out of Denver at 11 a.m.  The blizzard of 2006 was underway. more>
