Vigil-Harrison 3rd, Brown 6th

Grandview junior Josh Vigil-Harrison has qualified for three Colorado High School State Wrestling Championship tournaments in three years and he moved up three places on the podium this year, from his sixth place finish as a freshman, to end up in third place in the 285 pound weight class. Vigil-Harrison won his opening round match on Thursday night but lost in the second round to eventual State Champion Dade Drimmer from Chaparral and then he won four straight matches to finish the tournament with a 5-1 record.

Senior Seth Brown opened the tournament with wins in the first two rounds in the 145 pound weight class and that was good enough for a sixth place finish. This was Brown's second qualification to the State Tournament.

The Wolves finished in nineteenth place with 27 points.

Cardenas, Brown make finals matches at rugged Arvada West
by Courtney Oakes1/22/15

ARVADA | The daunting schedule coach Ryan Budd put together for his Grandview wrestling team could pay big dividends come the end of the season.

The Wolves’ latest test — sandwiched in between the Reno (Nevada) Tournament of Champions in December and the upcoming Top of the Rockies tournament Jan. 23-24— came Saturday at the Arvada West Invitational, a stacked 15-team multi-classification gathering loaded with much of the state’s top talent.  Story ->

Grandview outlasts Cherokee Trail
by Courtney Oakes1/9/15

Wyatt Eickbush had little left in his tank Tuesday night other than an intense desire to win for his Grandview wrestling team.

The Wolves’ senior 182-pounder trailed Cherokee Trail’s Chris Cain 2-0 inside of the final minute of the third period during the Centennial League rivals when he knew he had to just try something, anything.        Story ->
