Ryan Budd – Head Wrestling Coach
– Ryan was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado. He wrestled at
Grandview from 2000 – 2004 and during that time he was a 4 time
State Qualifier, 3 time State Placer and High School All-American.
Ryan wrestled Division I, in the PAC 10 and he was a 3 time varsity
letter winner for the Cal State Fullerton Titans. This is his 6th
year coaching wrestling and his 5th year at Grandview. This year
will be Ryan’s 1st year as head coach. He is excited to
be back at Grandview and is ready to give back to the program he was
a part of. Ryan is very passionate about the sport of wrestling and
the life lessons that it can teach to young athletes. Ryan is a
Physical Education teacher at Grandview and runs the off season
weight training program in the fall. Ryan is currently enrolled at
Adams State University for his Masters. Ryan is married to Heather
and they have a beautiful yellow lab named Leila.
Brian Timberman – Assistant Varsity Coach
– Brian graduated from Grandview High School in 2004. Brian was
All-State in Football and Wrestling for Grandview. He was a 4 year
varsity letter in winner in wrestling while placing 6th
in state as a senior. Brian went to Adams State University where he
continued his Football career. He earned his undergraduate degree in
2009 and his graduate degree in 2013 from Adams State. Brian is in
his 5th year teaching Physical Education at Grandview.
This is Brian’s 7th year coaching wrestling and 5th
year at GHS. Brian also has been coaching football for 6 years with
5 of those being at GHS. Brian is married to Holly and they love
their dog Leah.
Scott Conant - Assistant Coach/Head
JV Coach -
Scott has a B.S. from Culver-Stockton College and an M.S. from Northern
Arizona University. He taught for ten years in Arizona. He
teaches Physical Education and Health at Grandview. Scott has 21
years of coaching experience in wrestling and was the head coach at
McClintock High School in Arizona for three years. This is Scott's
seventh season at Grandview. He and his wife Brenda have two dogs,
Coach and Sarge.
Rob Combs - Assistant Coach
- Rob earned B.S. degrees in Materials Science Engineering from
Washington State University and in Mechanical Engineering from
Eastern Washington University. After working several years as a
Materials Science Engineer, Rob made the decision to go back to
school to earn his Masters in Education degree. He has taught in
the Cherry Creek School District for the last 15 years, with 13 of
those years at Grandview High School. Rob is the Applied Technology
Coordinator for Grandview and teaches Technical Drawing, Engineering
Design and Senior Projects/Advanced Computer Topics. This will be
Rob’s 10th year coaching wrestling at Grandview. He also
coaches football at Adams City High School. Rob is excited about the
upcoming season and working with each of the Wolves wrestlers.
Coach Combs is married to Angie and they have four beautiful
children: Taven (17), Cora (6), Brenley (4) and Caden (2).
Jake Fisher – Volunteer Assistant Coach
– Jake is in his first year coaching here at Grandview. He recently
graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in
History and a minor in Business Administration. He attended
Grandview from 2007-2011, where he was a 4x letter winner, and 2x
All Centennial League wrestler. His career also included a 4th place
finish at The Beast Tournament and a 6th place finish in the State
Regional tournament. He was also a 3x letter winner in football. He
currently works as an ILC ParaEducator here at Grandview. Jake is
excited to return and give back to the program that made such an
impact on his life.
