Grandview "Does Well" At State
The Grandview Youth Wrestling Club had 25 wrestlers enter this
year's Colorado State Youth Wrestling Championships which were
held at Grandview High School on Saturday and Sunday, February
24th and 25th, and ended the tournament with 15 place finishers.
Eight and under, 64 pound Nick Brascetta won his first state
championship and 12 and under, 108 pound Curtis McNary won his
first Colorado Championship in his first season after transferring from
Oregon. McNary won the Northwest Championships last year.
Coach Steve Eberle said, "fifteen place finishers out of twenty-five
entries is something we can be proud of." Eberle went on to say "this
was probably the toughest youth State Tournament in Colorado ...
ever, because of the merging of the Western Suburban and Metro
Wrestling Leagues for this event." Seven hundred and twenty
wrestlers competed in this years tournament.
